Kahdet kasvot:
Carmen & Adriana
Minä, Carmen & La testa d'Adriana - two powerful mini operas in one night!
Welcome to join us for a spectacle that takes the audience from one end to the other on the spectrum of emotions: from passion and destiny to absurd and grotesque.
In the first half you'll be led to Georges Bizet's world by Carmen herself in "Minä, Carmen" a monologue adaptation of one of the world's most beloved operas. A new characterisation of Bizet's music is brought by accordion, which is capable of carrying the role of a full orchestra.
In the second half the mood changes radically, when the stage is conquered by The Head of Adriana, La testa d'Adriana, a hilarious, experimental miniopera by the Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer (1933–2021).
Kahdet kasvot: Carmen & Adriana is a bold and capturing mixture of classical opera and experimental music theatre. It brings the audience heartbreaking drama and playful ludicrosity - a night to remember!
On stage: Minna-Leena Lahti, soprano, and Sonja Vertainen, accordion.
The text and direction of Minä, Carmen: Juhani Koivisto.
